Knit (or Crochet) Afghan — Stash Buster

This pattern will be published (January 8) in the 2018 Knitting Pattern A Day Calendar.
Cast on 40 stitches with color A. Add Color B by twisting yarn around color A yarn and cast on 40 more stitches. Add Color C by twisting yarn around color B and cast on 40 more stitches. Turn and knit 40 stitches with color C; Knit Color B by twisting yarn around color C yarn and knit 40 more stitches; Knit Color A by twisting yarn around Color B and knit 40 more stitches. Turn and continue knitting rows as above. When you run out of one color, just add a new yarn and continue knitting. When afghan reaches 60", bind off.
Note — This afghan can be made with more than 3 colors of yarn in each row.
(i.e. — knit 30 stitches of each of four colors, etc.)
It can also be made with crochet stitches instead of knit stitches.
